Team & Methodology

How we work, what we automate, and how we keep our analysis honest and useful.

AI-assisted analysis using a human-designed framework

Who this site is for

SaaS Pattern is built for founders, product managers, and marketers who want to learn from real SaaS sites—how they structure pages, what patterns they use, and what stacks they run on. Whether you’re validating an idea, designing a landing page, or refining your positioning, our breakdowns and pattern library are here to give you a clear, consistent framework.

What is automated

We use automation to discover sites, capture structure and copy, and detect technologies in use. Draft summaries and pattern suggestions are also generated with AI to keep our coverage scalable. Automation handles the heavy lifting so we can focus on quality and consistency.

What is human-defined

Our framework—which patterns we track, how we name them, and how we score them—is designed by humans. The criteria for “strong” vs “weak” implementation, the categories we use (e.g. social proof, pricing, clarity), and the way we present findings are all defined by the SaaS Pattern research team so that analysis stays comparable and actionable.

What is reviewed

Before publication, analysis is reviewed for accuracy, fairness, and relevance. We check that claims match the evidence (e.g. screenshots and quotes), that scores align with our methodology, and that the tone stays professional and useful. This review step is where we ensure that automated and AI-assisted output meets our standards.

How patterns are scored

Patterns are scored against a fixed set of criteria: presence, clarity, and strength of implementation. Scores are applied consistently across sites so you can compare “how well” a given pattern is used. We document the scoring rules in our pattern library and reference them in each breakdown so you can see why a site received a given rating.

What tools are used

We use a combination of crawling and inspection tools to capture page structure and content, and standard technology detection to identify stacks (frameworks, analytics, payment providers, etc.). Where we cite specific tools or data sources in an analysis, we name them so you can assess the basis for our conclusions.
